New Year’s Resolution #5…Smile

“Smile it increases your face value.” This is not just a line from Steel Magnolias,it is your new solution to a better life. Don’t just smile from your lips. Let that smile begin in your heart and work it’s way through your soul. It is very hard to smile if you’ve been lied to, cheat on, abused, betrayed, or completely hurt. But trust in that smile. When you show the outside world, including the person who hurt you, that you are not concerned with how they’ve treated you, they wonder how you managed to handle the craziness of infidelity with so much ease. Deep inside, you may be a wreck. “But never let them see you sweat.”

A smile will be contagious. From you to them, you show the world that despite what you are going through inside your home, or inside your heart, or even inside your mind, that you are stronger and have it together. Your hope, faith, and trust is not in your situations, but in something and someone greater than the person causing your distress. It is a new year, resolve to be a new person. Despite any mistakes you’ve made in your past, you can make TODAY the best day of your life. Today is what you have because tomorrow is not promised and yesterday is history. It’s time to follow through with resolutions to make a change in your life for the better. Start with a smile…in your heart and on your face.

Spiritual Disclaimer: II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Just remember a smile a day, keeps the pain away.
