New Year’s Resolution #3

Call for help!

This message is for those women who are suffering from abuse, whether it is mental, emotional, physical, or sexual. If you cannot easily contact a family member, a friend, or are too scared to call 911…you can always contact spiritual help.

The prayers of a righteous man avail much (James 5:16). Do not allow your life to get bogged down in someone else’s behavior where you cannot lean on family and friends when you need them the most. If you’re dealing with abuse, please get out of that bad situation immediately. If you cannot find a family member or friend to assist you in relocation, then contact the authorities to relocate that spouse or significant other causing abuse.

It is always easier said than done to walk out of an abusive situation. There may be children involved or there may be a sense of fear of the unknown. Your religious beliefs may be different than that of Christianity, so your higher power may advise you to stay put in your abusive relationship because the man is in control. Unfortunately, being a rebel without any particular cause, I and others know that all you have to do is call on God for help, and he will rescue you.

If you have to battle your spouse every time you question his whereabouts or ask whose calling him on his personal or work cellular phone, it is obvious that you are not his priority. You don’t have to fight harder, just fight wiser. This upcoming year, while you are putting an expiration date on your troubles and focusing on yourself…learn to lean on God more. Regardless of your situation, in your time of need, He will provide you with the help you need when you need it. This can be sent in the form of an old friend whose always had your back. Or this can be a charity organization who assists you to financially support yourself and/or your children. The last thing you need when you are displaced because of an unhealthy relationship is to be unable to financially and emotionally support your household. Calling for help doesn’t imply that you’ve lost the fight, but it does mean that two or more people are better at fighting than just one.

Spiritual Disclaimer: Stand up for something. Or fall for every lie being told to you. Ladies, your man is there to protect you, and if he isn’t doing his job, you have a choice to replace him with someone who will. From one Christian to another, I implore you to choose Christ…call Him for help!
